Join us for a fascinating evening when Dr. Chen will speak on "China's Global Impact."
Wen was born in China at the end of the Great Cultural Revolution. Being victims of the horrific atrocity that killed two million intellectuals and destroyed traditional Chinese culture, Wen's parents had mixed feelings about her education. Despite their discouragement, Wen continued and eventually won a national science competition prize at the age of 16. She was then accepted into a top university for undergraduate study.
In 1994, Wen came to the U.S. for graduate school and received a doctorate in Biology at the California Institute of Technology in 2000. Because of her personal experience of being brainwashed in China, she decided to become a voice for the voiceless. Since 2012, she has given hundreds of presentations to community organizations about Chinese culture, history, and human rights. Wen has been working as a scientific staff member for Caltech since 2000. Check out Dr. Chen’s blog: https://wenchenview.blogspot.com/

Camarillo is located in Pleasant Valley at the eastern end of the Oxnard Plain, with the Santa Susana Mountains to the north, the Camarillo Hills to the northwest, the Conejo Valley to the east, and the western reaches of the Santa Monica Mountains to the south. A lush agricultural area, Camarillo grows beautiful strawberries, orange, lemon and walnuts that are prized by consumers. Point Mugu Naval Air Station is located in this area and we are very proud and supportive of the Naval personnel living in this area.
